The EF81, S68 and S88, the first three handsets to be incorporated under the BenQ-Siemens brand name, have been introduced by BenQ Mobile, a mobile communications company.

The Titanium Silver 3G EF81 handset from BenQ-Siemens includes a 2.0 megapixel camera, 64MB internal memory and a slot for up to 1GB of storage capacity with an additional Micro-SD-Card. The handset is 15.9mm thin, can store movies, music and photos and will be available from March.

The BenQ-Siemens S88 includes a 2.0 megapixel camera with 16x digital zoom, autofocus and LED photolight and is used in a horizontal position to take photographs. It features a 2.0" OLED display, high-performance video camera offering MPEG4 format, includes 16MB internal memory, a Micro-SD-Card slot and will be available this quarter.

The BenQ-Siemens S68 includes a large display, a Dual Speaker System, SyncStation DSC-100, Bluetooth, hands-free function and 64-tone ringtones. It also offers a facility enabling users to dictate a short voice message to be sent via MMS and will be available in 'Brushed Aluminium' from the end of February.

BenQ-Siemens has confirmed a future focus on multimedia and claimed that at least 33% of handsets introduced this year will be 3G, while 75% will include a FM radio or music player and 50% will incorporate a minimum 1.3 megapixel camera.
