First citizen is not a puppet.

Several weeks ago you published a letter from myself in which I asked who the Lord Mayor of Cardiff was and mentioned the low profile that seemed to exist within his office.

The Lord Mayor kindly replied and explained how proud he was of his office and the tradition that goes with it. The events of the last week have proved how wrong I was about a low profile.

Why is Councillor Goodway so upset at what the Lord Mayor has stated?

The Lord Mayor has only carried out the duties of his office. As the first citizen of Cardiff he is speaking for the people of Cardiff and not acting as a puppet to this arrogant council.

Tradition is not only pomp but it is a way of honouring the great men who served Cardiff well in the past.
