First aiders' help call.

COVENTRY'S St John Ambulance is looking out for new members after finding the ranks of volunteers were becoming increasingly thin.

A recent event at the War Memorial Park saw only one St John's post in contrast to similar occasions last year where the brigade was able to find enough people to provide a tent.

Assistant area commissioner Brian Timms said: "We need more members to go on duty to relieve those dedicated members who help so often.

"If you have existing skills such as a first aider in the workplace and want to maintain that skill in return for a few duty hours with St John then we are looking for you.

"Or if you want to learn first aid skills then please get in touch."

Anyone interested can contact the St John headquarters on 024 7655 9990, leaving your name and number.
