First Citizens Bank Enhances PC Banking Software Upgrades Will Improve Customer Access to Account Information

RALEIGH, N.C., Oct. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- In a move to provide customers with improved access to timely information about their bank accounts, First Citizens Bank (Nasdaq: FCNCA) has introduced a number of improvements to its PC Banking software offerings.

Among the Improvements:

Faster availability of funds. This means that you will be able to make a transfer and have those funds immediately available for withdrawal at an ATM.

Information on credit card balances. Now First Citizens Bank credit card holders can manage their credit on-line, as well as their deposit accounts.

More details about finances. The account detail screens will change, providing more detailed and up-to-date information. Rather than just displaying the cleared balance, First Citizens PC Banking will now reflect both ledger (cleared) and current balances.

The current balance will reflect ATM, Visa Check, and teller transactions performed during the day. In addition, the software will provide more details regarding each separate transaction, so account holders will more easily understand account activity.

Enhanced funds transfer capability. One of the best new features is an enhanced transfer capability to complement the current bill pay feature. You will now be able to treat payments to First Citizens credit accounts as transfers rather than as bill payments, which will allow posting of a payment to occur on the same day the payment was initiated by the customer.

Better access to products. Check re-ordering is simplified, and customers will be able to submit certain product applications on-line. Applications for ATM cards and CheckLine reserve accounts will be available immediately, with additional applications added automatically in the near future.

Existing First Citizens PC Banking customers will automatically receive the required software upgrades the first time they log on to the system after September 28. After receiving the automatic update, PC Banking customers need only restart their PC Banking software to activate these new features.

Under First Citizens Direct, the bank is already offering 24-hour access to live customer service personnel via its telephone bank; Business Express, a PC-based banking product for small businesses; Data Net, a product for mid- sized companies; and home-based on-line banking in North Carolina. On-line banking options include the ability to monitor account balances, receive information on cleared checks, transfer funds and pay bills, among other capabilities.
