First Choice Expeditions Selects Noetix Generator to Speed Reporting from Oracle Business Intelligence Suite Enterprise Edition.

Noetix Generator for Oracle BI Automates the creation of Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Information Model Reporting Layers

REDMOND, Wash. -- Noetix Corp., a software provider that automatically generates business intelligence (BI) content from enterprise applications, today announced that First Choice Expeditions, a collection of travel companies offering unique, high quality, high-end vacation experiences, is using Noetix Generator for Oracle BI to speed reporting from their Oracle Business Intelligence Suite EE (OBI EE) platform.

First Choice built an OBI EE server with the Noetix Generator in a matter of days. "We queried against the database, generated reports, and moved to the production environment in record time," said Larry Frank, vice president of information technology for First Choice. "I built a dedicated server with the Noetix model and launched it against both versions of Oracle Financials, 11i and Release 12 while moving Discoverer users over to the OBI EE platform."

Noetix Generator for Oracle BI inherits the logic required to build the enterprise information model, eliminating the manual process of building a model against database views, enabling users to easily access Oracle data without knowledge of the underlying table structure. For years, First Choice leveraged Noetix Generator for Oracle Discoverer to automate the process of building and populating an end user layer for Discoverer with the features and functionality of the views. When the company decided to move from Discoverer to OBI EE as its business intelligence platform it needed a solution to make OBI EE work with NoetixViews. "Before Noetix, we dealt with complex tables and huge Oracle reports that were difficult to generate and modify. Users could only run canned reports with zero customization," said Frank.

The users create consolidated reports across multiple companies, leveraging the capabilities of the OBI EE tool with NoetixViews, and can slice the information the way they need, using innovative techniques for their industry.

Frank went on to say, "Most companies today perform static reporting that only shows a view of the relational transaction world, but that's just not the way to run a business, especially in more challenging economic times. Noetix has given our functional users access to the data in a way they want to see it, without having to rely on technical resources. Honestly, I couldn't imagine running an Oracle shop without Noetix."
