Firm wins International ICT Award.

Cebu City, Cebu -- United States-based manufacturer of laser printers and enterprise services Lexmark International Inc., which has operations in Cebu, announced that Lexmark Cebu has recently bagged the "Best Global In-House Center of the Year" and runner-up for the "Most Innovative Company of the Year."

This is the first time that Lexmark Cebu joined this prestigious award giving body, organized by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines (CanCham), in association with the Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP).

The Cebu Educational Development Foundation for Information Technology or CEDFIT nominated Lexmark.

Held annually, the International ICT Awards Philippines, recognizes achievements and excellence in Philippine-based organizations and individuals making valuable contributions to the industry and putting the country on the global map of the IT-BPM industry, indicating world-class quality of Philippine-made products and performance of Filipinos.

Lexmark Cebu executives Christophe Calligaro and Lexmark Research and Development Corp. in Cebu (Lexmark-Cebu) President and Chief Executive Officer RL Bandy received the awards and recognition on behalf of all Lexmark employees.

Earlier, Bandy said the company, banking on Cebu's healthy economic progress, is ready to continually grow its research and development as well as shared-services centers here.

"We have been successful in our Cebu operations for the last 14 years and we intend to further grow our business here," he said.

With the company's move from being a developer and manufacturer of printing and imaging products, to one that provides business solutions, he assured that Lexmark will grow its pool of talented manpower.

The Filipinos as highly-skilled, highly trainable hardworking workers and the Philippines being accessible to all areas in the Asia-Pacific region were among the factors cited by Bandy for Lexmark's choosing to locate in Cebu since 2009.
