Firm is banking on great success.

The Newcastle branch of Swedish bank Handelsbanken has further expanded its team with a new appointment.

Lesley Rogers, from Hexham, joins the bank to take responsibility for providing support to the account managers to ensure they deliver a first class service to clients.

Her role will see her ensure the smooth running of the internal account management and customer service functions as well as the preparation of legal documents for customers.

Lesley has worked in the financial sector for more than 25 years for the HSBC Group.

She said: "I was attracted to Handelsbanken because I want to be part of a team that can deliver a great service and really gets to know its clients.

"It is very different from other high street banks as, being decentralised, we can service all our clients' day to day needs locally."

Handelsbanken has grown steadily over the past three years and this is a trend that looks set to continue.

It operates 26 branches in Great Britain and plans to extend this network further.

In its native Sweden, Svenska Handelsbanken is a household name with 455 branches plus a further 38 in Norway, 36 in Finland and 35 in Denmark.
