Firm's capital gain.

Hubert Construction, LLC of Gaithersburg, MD is completing a full facade renovation of 1411 K St., N.W., a 65,000 s/f office building located in the Central business district of Washington, D.C.

Hubert began the work in November, 2003 and is finishing the job in September 2004,

The fully occupied office building has remained open and operational throughout the renovation, which required full scaffolding of the 14-story K Street facade and dose coordination with tenants.

Existing metal panels and windows dating from 1959 were removed and replaced with new stone composite panels and low-e energy-efficient windows. Now exterior lighting was installed as well. Indoors, Hubert renovated the building lobby with new finishes and a new reception desk. Barry Dunn & Associates of Alexandria, VA was the renovation project architect.

Built 45 years ago, 1411 K Street underwent interior renovations in the 1990s. It was acquired last year by New York-based Meritage Properties in partnership with Buchanan Partners of Gaithersburg, MD. The building is located just a block from the McPherson Square Metro station and three blocks from the White House.
