Fire in Droushia.

Firefighters are battling a blaze in Paphos in the Droushia area with part of it being out of control, reports said on Thursday.

The fire broke out at 1.25pm in an area between Droushia and Kritou Terra. Firefighters managed to bring one of the two fronts under partial control but the second one remained untamed.

Five vehicles were in the area while two water-dropping helicopters were also scrambled to assist efforts.

The fire has so far burned through dry brush and a number of trees.
