27 July 2010 - Finnish industrial machinery company Metso Oyj (HEL: MEO1V) said Monday afternoon it will deliver a lime calcining system to the steel plant of Russian OJSC Novolipetsk Steel (RTD: NLMK), or NLMK.

No financial details were available.

Delivery of equipment will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2011 and the refractory materials will be supplied in the first quarter of 2012.

The order was booked in the second quarter of 2010.

The delivery consists of a preheater rotary kiln lime plant, including process and equipment design, plant control system and project management. Metso will also provide erection and commissioning supervision services.

The equipment will be installed in NLMK's facilities in Lipetsk, some 450 km south of Moscow, as part of a planned expansion project.

This is the first Metso rotary kiln with preheater to be installed at NLMK and it is expected to produce 800 tonnes of lime per day, and increases the lime production by 250,000 tonnes annually.
