Finnair looks for partner to speed up Nordic Champion strategy.
Finnair on Thursday announced that it is beginning discussions with potential cooperation partners on forming a joint venture for an expansion of it's presence in the Nordic countries.
The potential joint venture is expected to accelerate the carrier's Nordic Champion strategy and it's aim to establish new bases and expand it's network in the Nordic countries.
Currently the carrier is undergoing a restructuring programme which aims to improve its competitiveness and restore profitability. The carrier is also looking to improve the profitability of its loss-making European traffic.
This joint venture would allow the carrier to operate some or all of its European traffic at a lower cost while it's own operations would be more focused on long haul traffic.
