Finland : WEaRTSILEa gets two significant service contracts.

WEnrtsilEn has declared 2 new service agreements one a three-year contract with DOF group, and the other, together with ABB Turbochargers, a 10-year maintenance and support deal with Royal Caribbean Cruises.

The agreement with Norwegian offshore operator DOF covers services for all WEnrtsilEn equipment, counting engines and propulsion in addition to electrical and automation systems, for DOF's ships operating in Norway, Brazil and Singapore. DOF Group possesses and runs 77 offshore and subsea vessels, approximately 30 of which have WEnrtsilEn equipment on board, counting 34, 32, 26, 20 and Wichmann engines.

The 10 year maintenance and technical support agreement with Royal Caribbean Cruises covers a total of 142 WEnrtsilEn engines in 36 RCL vessels, 32 by now in operation and four newbuilds, with an alternative to add more vessels in the future. ABB Turbocharging has been subcontracted by WEnrtsilEn to cover the 170 ABB turbochargers in the RCCL fleet.

WEnrtsilEn under the terms of the contract will offer services counting condition monitoring, technical support, development and design of new components as well as spare parts supply. ABB Turbocharging will provide a customised service package, including scheduled and unscheduled spare parts and labour at ABB workshop.

As per to Wartsila, this agreement is one of the biggest with a marine customer. Kimmo KohtamEnki, firector of four-stroke engines at WEnrtsilEn said, "By combining the knowledge from the customer's side with the knowledge and experience from WEnrtsilEn and ABB, we made this agreement a reality. The contract will enhance the predictability of Royal Caribbean's operational costs, minimise scheduled and unscheduled maintenance costs as well as optimise the planning of maintenance and spare parts deliveries".
