Finnish fishing lures manufacturer Rapala VMC Corporation reported on Thursday (26 July) an operating profit of EUR23.0m on net sales of EUR136.8m for the financial period January-June 2007.

Both operating profit and net sales for the six-month period increased, respectively from EUR18.1m and EUR127.6m, as compared to the corresponding period in 2006.

Operating profit for the second quarter 2007 amounted to EUR11.0m on net sales of EUR73.4m.

Earnings per share (EPS) in the second quarter amounted to EUR0.17, up from EUR0.11 in the corresponding period in 2006.

Rapala VMC, headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, manufactures lures and other fishing gear in Finland, France, Ireland, Estonia and China. Rapala VMC is listed on the Nordic Exchange in Helsinki.

One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 1.49 euros (EUR).
