Finnish stainless steel group Outokumpu Oyj said on Thursday (7 February) that it will expand its stock and processing capability in France.

The project will entail the relocation of the current coil service centre from Azay sur Cher some 40km east to new premises in Noyers sur Cher in Central France.

New cutting equipment will be installed to enable the processing of stainless steel plate, as well, the company said.

The total investment is some EUR14m over two years.

Outokumpu, headquartered in Espoo in Finland, is an international stainless steel company with 9,000 employees in 30 countries and annual sales of EUR5bn. Outokumpu is listed on the Nordic Exchange in Helsinki.

One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 1.34 euros (EUR).
