Finnish cargo-handling solutions provider Cargotec Corporation said on Monday (26 November) that its Kalmar business area has received an additional order from the port of Hamburg's biggest container terminal operator, Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA).

Kalmar will supply nine more automatic stacking cranes (ASC) for the second phase in the conversion of HHLA Container Terminal Burchardkai (CTB).

Delivery of this second order for nine cranes, along with their automation and control systems, will commence in 2008.

The total number of ASCs operating at CTB will reach 24 units in 2009. The contract with HHLA includes an option for an additional 63 ASCs, the company added.

Cargotec Corporation provides cargo handling solutions which are used in local transportation, terminals, ports, distribution centres and ships. In 2006 Cargotec's net sales exceeded EUR2.6bn and the company employs some 8,000 people in more than 160 countries. Cargotec is listed on the OMX Nordic Exchange in Helsinki.

One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 1.39 euros (EUR).
