Find a Gunsmith.
Q I am planning on setting up a gun shop within the next year. In my shop I will want to offer gunsmithing services. I would like to hire a gunsmith but I really don't know how to find one. Can you help?
A Absolutely! There are two ways you can go about this. First, you can contact the various gunsmithing schools such as Trinidad Junior College in Trinidad, CO, or the Colorado School of Trades in Denver. Talk to the lead instructor and. tell him what you need. More than likely he'll be able to recommend several suitable graduates or students who are nearing graduation.
Another option would be to attend the annual Brownells Gunsmith Career Fair in Des Moines, Iowa. Virtually all the gunsmithing schools are there with some of their most promising arid talented students and many of them are looking for jobs. Just contact Brownells, 200 South Front St., Dept. FAN, Montezuma, Iowa 50171, telephone 641-623-5401, and they'll help set you up so you can conduct interviews at the Career Fair.
