Finance and Economic Regulation Ministers to represent Kyrgyzstan in Eurasian Development Bank Council.

Finance Minister Melis Mambetzhanov and Economic Regulation Minister Uchkunbek Tashbaev will represent interests of Kyrgyzstan in the Eurasian Development Bank's Board of Directors. The respective decision was signed by Prime Minister Almazbek Atambaev on November 17, 2011. Melis Mambetzhanov will be the Plenipotentiary Representative in the EDB Council, Tashbaev is Deputy Representative in the EDB Council. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) is an international financial institution founded in order to foster economic growth and integration processes in the Eurasian region. The Bank was founded by intergovernmental agreement that was signed in January 2006 by the Presidents of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan. The initiative for establishing the Bank came from the two Presidents. Kyrgyzstan has become the sixth member of the Eurasian Development Bank on August 30, 2011, having paid the membership fee in the amount of $100,000.
