Finals dream.

A BUDDING stage star is following her dream after making it to the finals of a national talent competition.

Sophie Watson, 12, is preparing to battle it out against girls from across the country for the title of Little Miss Dream 2008.

Sophie, who attends Durham High School for Girls, is heading to London in September for the beauty pageant-style contest.

She's one of 11 finalists to be picked from about 120 entrants who have to perform, as well as prove they are 'compassionate, caring and genuine'.

Musical Sophie is hoping to wow judges with her clarinet playing, which earned her a place at the weekend school at The Sage Gateshead. She also plays saxophone, piano and trombone.
