Film plan for death row Scot.
THE true story of death row Scot Kenny Richey is set to be made into a film in the United States.
Hollywood legend Harvey Keitel has been approached to appear in the big-screen drama about the Edinburgh-born former US marine's life.
The news comes as Richey, 39, yesterday began his 18th year behind bars in an Ohio jail after being convicted of killing a baby in an arson attack on his ex-lover's home.
Richey has always maintained his innocence and is now awaiting the outcome of a last-ditch appeal heard last May.
New York-based Freedomfilmz now plan to start shooting his life story in Ohio this spring.
The movie-makers are in discussions with Keitel - who has a lengthy track record in independent productions.
They have also lined up Glasgow-born actor Colin O'Hara to play Richey.
He said: "We have to try to bring this case to the national consciousness for Kenny's sake."
