Fillies win glances by short hem.

GLORIOUS sunshine is tipped for tomorrow's Grand National - and bookies are forecasting a bumper crop of bets thanks to the soaring temperatures.

These two women were dressed for the weather, drawing attention away from the horses in the parade ring.

And tomorrow forecasters predict more sunny weather and temperatures of 24C-25C (75F-77F), around 10 degrees above the seasonal average.

Simon Clare, spokesman for bookmakers Coral, said: "History tells us that hot, sunny weather on Grand National day encourages the maximum number of people to place a bet.

"The scorching weather forecast for tomorrow will ensure that everyone feels optimistic about their chances of winning."

North West Ambulance has urged people to use sun screen and warned race-goers who drink alcohol to ensure they do not become dehydrated.
