FilesAnywhere(TM) "MetaData" Adds Web-Based Database and Spreadsheet Features to Online File Storage.

DALLAS -- today announced new online database and spreadsheet features, called "MetaData," for users storing files over the Internet. FilesAnywhere MetaData enables users to create custom forms for any folder, then enter and save any type of information along with files and folders. FilesAnywhere's new web-based spreadsheet offers data entry, search filters, file and data record browsing, data export and other file actions, all from one screen.

For example, a finance office adds a MetaData Custom Form to track data associated with contract documents. Team members are able to login to FilesAnywhere, save new documents to the contract folder and enter details about the contracts. They might use a dropdown list to select a contract type, the status or which person is currently assigned. They might click the calendar to select a contract date, enter a phone number, or click an option button. Other team members, having shared access to the folder, may search for MetaData and make direct edits. Users also can select matching files and take file actions, like downloading files, uploading new versions, or sending an email link to customers so they can download the files.

MetaData adds new ways to organize files and to collect important information associated with files. Using the MetaData Spreadsheet, users can search for saved data across a number of files and MetaData records, or directly enter data in the spreadsheet. Users also can toggle between the Spreadsheet view and the Form view to work with MetaData.

MetaData is now available to all FilesAnywhere accounts, including free 1GB accounts, and everyone who signs up through the FilesAnywhere Facebook app. There is no software to install, and the features are compatible with all popular web browsers.

These new database features expand upon FilesAnywhere's workgroup and document management features, giving teams a single, convenient place to work together online. Other document management features include:

* Direct web-based access to Microsoft[R] Office-based documents, PDF's, text files, and all image formats, with no download required.

* Permission-based sharing at any folder level.

* Version Control and Version History for web-based change management.

* Document Lifecycle Management features to support record retention rules or policies.

* FilesAnywhere Document Scanning service, converting paper documents to online digital format, for archive, search, workflow and collaboration purposes.
