MEDIA CONVERTERS OFFER MORE OPTIONS for smaller applications and small offices. The PointSystem Converters allow users to convert single-mode to multimode fiber options on OC-3, Fast Ethernet, OC-12 and Gigabit Ethernet networks. The units are used individually or in pairs, to extend the distance of their network up to 80 km for OC-3 and Fast Ethernet, and up to 65 km for Gigabit Ethernet. They can be used with any PointSystem chassis, including the 18-slot, the 13-slot or the new dual-slot chassis. Additional modules available include a bridging media converter in two TX/one FX configurations, five TX/one FX and four TX/two FX form factors. --Transition Networks
