Festival tickets selling fast.

THOUSANDS of pop fans are heading for an outdoor festival in a Warwickshire village.

Organisers of the Napton Festival, on Saturday, September 15, say online ticket sales have easily outstripped last year's total.

The festival will be headlined by 60s legends The Hollies and 70s glam rockers The Sweet.

Organiser Jan Patalon said: "This time last year we didn't sell many tickets on the internet at all, although it was still a really good success because lots of people turned up on the day.

"We are over the moon about the sales at the moment because it shows it's growing in popularity and hopefully we are going to have a big event."

Surviving members of The Sweet, famous for hits like Blockbuster and Hell Raiser, will perform on stage at Holt Farm.

There will be two stages, a fun fair, camping facilities and a total of 20 acts providing the entertainment.

Charities set to benefit include Water Aid, Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, and the Anthony Nolan Trust.
