Festival murder: Man held.

A TEENAGER has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 21-year-old man was killed in an attack at a balloon fiesta.

Colin Philip Treharne, of Lawrence Weston, Bristol, was attacked near the fairground area of the International Bristol Balloon Festival at the Ashton Court estate on Saturday evening. He died at Frenchay Hospital.

Avon and Somerset Police said yesterday they arrested a 19-year-old Bristol man on suspicion of murder late on Sunday night.

A murder investigation was launched after a post-mortem examination revealed that Mr Treharne died of head injuries. Police said the site would have been busy and renewed an appeal for witnesses.

Detective Superintendent Trevor Simpson said officers believed Mr Treharne was hit on the back of his head with a plank of wood as he was cycling through the site.
