Festival crowds for Haj j.

FIVE hundred Muslims celebrated the end of the month of Hajj and the festival of Eid at a new centre at the pavilion on Spaines Road in Far town.

Yesterday's event for adults and children was organised by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association.

Several members of the community from Huddersfield also travelled to London to celebrate Eid-Ul-Adhia with 10,000 people behind the Imam of the Worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hazrat Khalifatul Masih 5th, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (aba), at the biggest mosque in Western Europe, Baitul Futuh.

Eid is celebrated worldwide by Muslims taking pride in wearing new clothes, being offered gifts, sweets and money and meeting friends and relatives and eating specially prepared food.

The spirit of Eid-Ul-Adhia is seen as a time of reflection and to move forward to spiritual development through good conduct and prayer.
