In the first study of its kind, by Welsh researchers, those seeking to start a family reveal how a shortage of egg donors in the UK is forcing them abroad.
The cost of treatment in the UK - where most IVF is not funded by the NHS - is also given as a major factor why nearly threequarters of couples have gone abroad.
But there are warnings today that treatment in many countries is not up to the standard of that in Britain.
