Ferrovial to lobby BAA shareholders - claim.

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2006 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Sources familiar with the situation have reportedly suggested that Spain's Grupo Ferrovial intends to lobby major shareholders in British airport operator BAA Plc.

Ferrovial will reportedly lobby shareholders this week to gain some backing for its proposed GBP8.8bn takeover offer. The lobbying is to be carried out before the company decides whether to make a hostile bid or walk away, according to Reuters.

A source apparently told Reuters that Ferrovial may divest BAA's non-regulated businesses, like airport duty-free stores, if its bid is accepted.
