Fergie quit shock; FOOTBALL.

MANCHESTER United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed he was so disillusioned with football at one point in his playing career that he almost quit the game to emigrate to Canada.

However, he had a change of heart after harsh words from his mother as he struggled to make his mark as a centreforward with St Johnstone. The following day he scored a hat-trick against Rangers. He said: "It changed my life. I became a full-time footballer and never looked back."
