Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal on Thursday met with young UAE tennis players to offer professional advice and tips on what it takes to become a great player.

The two international champions are in Abu Dhabi to take part in the Mubadala World Tennis Championship, which kicks-off on Thursday.

This marks the third year in a row Federer and Nadal have participated in the Abu Dhabi event, the opening tournament of the 2011 tennis season.

"The children are delighted to have this once in a lifetime opportunity to receive tennis tips from Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal," said Ghyath Rustom, a top local tennis coach. "Through the Mubadala World Tennis Championship, the Mubadala Tennis in Schools Program and the Mubadala Community Cup, Mubadala has been driving the growth of the sport in the UAE and encouraging individuals to get involved in tennis and lead active and healthy lifestyles."
