Federal Minster for Commerce visits TDAP.

KARACHI, 18 March , 2009 (Frontier Star) -- Federal Minister for Commerce, Makhdoom Amin Fahim visited head office of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan and held meetings with senior functionaries of the Authority on Wednesday. The Chief Executive TDAP, Syed Mohibullah Shah, explained the main features of trade profile of Pakistan and suggested the measures for reducing trade imbalance of the country. In a presentation, the Chief Executive outlined the main features of New Export Strategy developed by Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, which aims to broaden the hitherto narrow export base by encouraging investment and technology in export oriented industry and by up gradation of skills of workforce. The Minister appreciated the efforts of TDAP in identifying new sectors such as Agro food, minerals and services sector besides textile sector and new markets of Asia and Africa for enhancing exports from Pakistan. He said that this will help in reducing trade imbalance of Pakistan, which is Governments top priority and assured full support to TDAP in tapping immense export potential of previously untapped products and markets. Secretary TDAP, Mirza Karim Baig was also present in the briefing along with other Director Generals.
