Federal Budget revolutionary, progressive: Labour Minister.

PESHAWAR -- The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Labour, Sher Azam Wazir Monday said the federal budget was revolutionary and progressive wherein all types of facilities were provided to people belonging to every walk of life.

Twenty percent increase in salaries and pension of the Government employees, plan for creation of jobs for 100,000 youth and allocation of Rs 873 billion in the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for various ongoing and new development schemes are one of the major announcement appreciated by all and sundry. Talking to reporters here, the Minister highly appreciated the Government's bold steps for allocation of Rs 183 billion for the energy sector that would help address menace of load shedding.

He said the inherited problems could not be addressed overnight and time would be required to address the power issue. The Minister said some elements are making politicking on energy issue that was purely a technical subject, adding this problem was inherited by the Government from the past. The Minister said government has made planning for addressal of energy issue. The Minister said allocation of Rs.183 billion by the federal government in the budget would help overcome problems of energy shortage.

The Minister said setting up 2,000 new utility stores would help reduce prices of daily use items in local markets and will reduce inflation.

He said Pakistan Peoples' Party is the only political party with strong root in masses in all provinces, Gilgit Baltistan and AJK and deserved full appreciations for presenting an historic and progressive budget despite different hard challenges. He said KPK government would also present a balance and progressive budget with maximum relief to masses and public sector program. He said maximum share of ADP was allocated for ongoing projects.

All public sectors departments have been given balanced share for development in the budget, saying that political jugglers are now hiding their faces from masses after the government presented a growth oriented budget. He asked political jugglers to either resign from politics or sit in homes as all their propaganda was proved wrong.

He said PPP would get thumping victory in next general election on the basis of performance. The Minister said PPP believes on power of masses and will not compromise on their rights, adding revolutionary steps have been taken for uplift of labourers.
