Feb. 22nd: The Biz of Baseball #RIP.

Byline: Maury Brown

I'll keep this short and bittersweet...

On February 22nd, BizofBaseball.com, better known as The Biz of Baseball is shutting down. The reasons are numerous... Upgrading the Joomla platform jacked the layout up. Not upgrading the system caused it to be cyber vulnerable. And the hosting cost got out of control when there has been no revenue coming in. So, rest in peace, right?

Now, the good news...

I have spent a great deal of time backing up all the best parts of this site to allow it to be ported over to a new website that will sit on Wordpress, the platform I've used for years now with nearly all every outlet I've worked for, including Forbes, now.

So, what will the new site be about? First of all, the name will leverage the LLC for this site: Bizball. While the .com name was taken, Bizball.biz was open.

Bizball.biz will have an archive section with all the docs, arbitration, and data files, plus key articles things such as MLB Network, MLB Extra Innings, the blackout territories map, and more.

Thanks, and follow me on Twitter @BizballMaury for details on Bizball's launch date.
