Fayyad urges parties to put aside sectarianism.
BEIRUT: Hezbollah MP Ali Fayyad urged Sunday the rival political factions to put their sectarian divisions aside, warning that a confessional conflict would harm all the parties.
Referring to the fierce power struggle between the March 8 and March 14 parties ahead of the June parliamentary elections, Fayyad told a rally in the southern town of Khiam: "Let the political game take its course even if it reaches a climax.
Let's put the sectarian conflict aside because it will harm everyone. No one can be a winner in this conflict." He added that a confessional conflict would also lead to weakening the state and encourage attacks on the Army.
