FaxPad, Anchor Pad International, 4483 McGrath Street, Ventura, CA 93003, (800) 4-ANCHOR (for information or location of nearest authorized dealer), $110 plus installation fees.

This is an office equipment accessory product guaranteed to guard most standard-sized facsimile systems against theft. According to Anchor Pad International (API), office machines such as facsimile systems are among the first items stolen in office burglaries of which a large percentage is attributed to workers who have access via keys to the building. The desktop security system is designed to accommodate various sizes of fax machines and attach them firmly to any worktable or desktop without marring the surface. It can also protect against accidental damage resulting from a fax machine being knocked off of its platform, even during a natural disaster, e.g., an earthquake or tornado. Weighing approximately 10 pounds, the FaxPad is designed to resist a force of up to 4.5 tons. When the FaxPad desktop security system is installed by a certified Anchor Pad technician, it is covered by the API "No Theft Pledge." Under this warranty option, if a technician-installed security system is defeated and the machine is stolen, API will reimburse the owner the actual cash value of the fax machine up to $5,000 for three years, and up to $25,000 per occurrence, per building. The system also comes with a standard one-year warranty against defects in workmanship and materials.
