Fatcat's PS100k for games.

Byline: EUAN STRETCH reporters@dailyrecord.co.uk

BRITISH Gas fatcat Ian Peters asked planners for permission to build a PS100,000 games room at his PS2million house.

While many of his customers struggle to afford to heat their homes, Peters got the go-ahead for the luxury development.

His spokesman claimed the new building at the boss's sprawling home in east Sussex was for elderly relatives.

But planning documents showed it was for a games room, toilet and double garage.

Peters - who earned around PS1.5million in salary and bonus payments last year - was given permission to build the large, detached building last year.

Plans show the L-shaped annexe next to the main house and big garden at Peters' home in Sussex.

It is not known if it has been put up yet.

But aerial photos show a large L-shaped building near the house.

Three weeks ago, British Gas announced they are raising electricity prices by 10.4 per cent and gas by 8.4 per cent this month.

The rises caused fury as British Gas make around PS600million a year in profit.
