FatWire Revitalizes the Web Experience for Healthcare Patients and Doctors.

Carilion Clinic Implements FatWire Content Server and eHealth Accelerator Solution to Better Engage with Patients and to Grow Their Patient Base

MINEOLA, N.Y. -- FatWire Software today announced that FatWire Content Server, the leading web content management (WCM) solution, and FatWire eHealth Accelerator were selected by Carilion Clinic to re-launch its corporate website, and deliver a web experience that will engage and inform its constituents.

As a healthcare organization serving over 1 million people in western Virginia, Carilion Clinic uses the web to communicate patient care offerings, healthcare news and promote excellence among its physicians by providing them with a variety of resources and services designed to support their clinical, teaching and research efforts.

Carilion selected eHealth Accelerator and FatWire Content Server to present visitors with the most up to date healthcare information and research. Developed by FatWire partner Element 115, a leading IT solutions provider focused on healthcare, eHealth Accelerator makes it easy to add healthcare information and other advanced features to sites managed by Content Server. This combined solution offers a media-rich resource center that gives consumers online access to patient and visitor information, a physician finder, clinical services, a health information library, health newsletters, and more.

FatWire Content Server is a comprehensive WCM solution that enables organizations to deliver a compelling web experience by building, deploying, and managing large-scale, persuasive, and interactive web sites. FatWire Content Server automates the entire process of managing web content, including authoring, site design, content publishing and deployment, content targeting, web content analytics, and user participation.

Using this scalable web content management solution, Carilion launched an enhanced corporate site (www.carilionclinic.org) that provides a rich set of information and capabilities for both patients, prospective patients, and doctors. Today, Carilion's business users can easily manage site content without relying on IT assistance for maintenance tasks. Carilion's newly launched site has strengthened their relationships with existing patients and improved their outreach efforts.

"We needed a robust solution that makes it easy to update content, so patients and visitors are presented with the most current information to meet their needs," said Mike Dame, Carilion Clinic's director of interactive media. "With FatWire Content Server, contributors can now author and edit content themselves. With the addition of the features provided by eHealth accelerator, we have been able to create a richer and more compelling site that truly meets visitors' healthcare information needs."

"We work closely with partners like Element115 to build industry solutions that help customers in specific markets to achieve their business goals using the web," states Ken Delaney, FatWire's Senior Vice President, North America Sales. "With FatWire Content Server, customers in a variety of vertical industries including healthcare, manufacturing, retail, media and publishing, financial and more can optimize their web presence for business success."
