Fat's the way to do it for top potatoes, says Nigella.

GOOSEFAT is rapidly gaining a reputation as a chef's best friend.

Nigella Lawson (pictured) and Jamie Oliver are just two of its famous culinary fans acclaiming its'magical' ability to ensure the perfect roast potato-crunchy on the outside, fluffy on the inside.

Prince Charles's Highgrove Goosefat, at pounds 2.09 a jar, is available from the Co-op, Morrisons, Sainsbury's, Somerfield, Tesco and Waitrose and delis and butchers.

Goosefat made by other producers is also widely available.

ASDA has became the first UK retailer to sell limeguats.

A cross between Mexican limes and the kumguat, the tropical fruit is bursting with flavour and is ideally suited to cocktails and desserts as well as a taste enhancement in meat and fish dishes.

The pulp of the fruit is bitter sweet and contains small edible seeds.

While the fruit can be eaten whole, its real versatility is showcased when sgueezed as the juice which can be used to flavour drinks or dishes.

Emma Kirk from ASDA says: "Our customers have increasingly adventurous tastes and are broadening their culinary horizons to experiment with new fruits and vegetables."

The fruits went on sale yesterday and cost pounds 1.28 for a 115g pack.
