Fast car stars take caravan.

Starksy and Hutch stars David Soul and Paul Michael Glaser are normally associated with fast cars but this week they are promoting....caravans.

The heroes of the Seventies TV cult cop show are at the Caravan Club stand at the Caravan and Outdoor Leisure Show at Earls Court in west London.

The two stars are announcing that the UK's Caravan Club is hoping that a version of the large US-based Airstream caravan could be introduced in Britain.

The Caravan Club has been working with Airstream over the past year offering advice on how to a bring a UK road-legal version of its product to the UK. The Caravan Club said: "There is no doubt that caravanning is already a hugely popular and versatile leisure pursuit, with a holiday to suit everybody's desires.

"Airstream caravans, by their very nature, will entice a whole new breed of caravanners to take to the road and enjoy this lifestyle."

A 22ft-long version of an international Airstream caravan is on display at the Caravan Club's stand at Earls Court.

"This version has been built to US, and not UK, specification, but we hope these kind of caravans will soon be gracing British roads," said a Caravan Club spokeswoman.
