Fast and hygienic.

Dyson hand dryers are said to offer significant cost savings over warm air hand dryers

The multi award-winning Dyson Airblade hand dryer is fast becoming a favourite of UAE-based companies and healthcare facilities seeking smart, environmentally sound sanitary solutions. Fast, hygienic and efficient, the Dyson Airblade hand dryers are said to use up to 80 per cent less energy than warm air hand dryers.

Dyson's founder, James Dyson said: "Instead of painfully slow evaporation, the Airblade hand dryer creates a high speed sheet of air, which literally scrapes water from hands. It's very quick and it's very clean."

He continues: "Conventional warm air hand dryers either take too long to dry hands, or don't work properly. Most people give up and wipe damp hands on clothes. The Dyson digital motor (DDM) in the Dyson Airblade hand dryer produces an air stream flowing at 400 mph. Channelled through a 0.3mm gap -- no thicker than an eyelash -- this unheated sheet of air acts like an invisible windscreen wiper to wipe moisture from hands leaving them dry in just 10 seconds.

HYGIENIC Warm air hand dryers use 60-year-old technology that relies on evaporation to dry hands, he points out. "Washroom air, which contains faecal germs and is laden with bacteria, is heated up and blown onto people's shoes, clothes and freshly washed hands.

"The Dyson Airblade hand dryer is the first and only hand dryer to be certified to meet the requirements of the NSF Protocol 335 for a hygienic hand drying system. In addition, it is the only hand dryer that passes washroom air through a HEPA filter to remove over 99.9 per cent of bacteria before it's blown onto hands."

The Dyson Airblade hand dryer has undergone extensive biological and scientific testing by Dyson's in-house microbiologists, as well as research conducted by Leeds University and Bradford University. Dyson's skincare research is also validated by leading institutes such as the British Skin Foundation and the Royal Society of Public Health, which has given the Dyson Airblade hand dryer its first hygiene accreditation.

"Powered by Dyson's own energy-efficient digital motor, the Dyson Airblade hand dryer offers significant running cost savings over warm air hand dryers and paper towels. For facilities seeking more environmentally sound solutions, eliminating the need for paper towels and reducing energy usage, not only reduces costs but it eliminates paper towel waste and lessens energy consumption.

"Now installed in numerous locations across the UAE and region including The Pearl-Qatar, the unit has been receiving good feedback from the companies and individuals who have bought it," he concludes.

The Dyson Airblade hand dryer is available in over 30 countries including the UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, and comes with a five-year guarantee.

PROJECTS Dyson Airblades have been installed in a number of leading healthcare facilities in the UK.

These include the Royal Marsden, the first hospital in the world dedicated to cancer treatment and research, the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals and the Carillion Health managed Great Western Hospital.
