Farnborough murder investigation: Two more arrests following Richard Hardy's death bringing total to eight; A man, 20, and a woman, 30, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and suspicion of assisting an offender respectively.

Two more people have been arrested in relation to amurderinvestigation following the death of a man inFarnborough.

Hampshire Constabularylaunched a murder investigation following the death of Richard Hardy, 25, who was fatally stabbed in Mayfield Road on Friday afternoon (January 26).

Since the investigation started, police have now made eight arrests.

Officers arrested a man, 20, on suspicion of murder and a woman, 30, on suspicion of assisting an offender on Sunday afternoon (January 28).

Senior investigating officer, Detective Chief Inspector Nick Heelan has appealed for witnesses to come forward as they continue their enquiries.

DCI Heelan said: "We are continuing to appeal for information in relation to this murder investigation.

"Richard was stabbed to death, in the middle of the day, and I believe there are witnesses who could assist us in understanding the exact circumstances that led up to his death.

"If you have any piece of information, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant, get in contact. If you witnessed this incident and haven't yet spoken to us, pick up the phone."

Two men, aged 31 and 26, were arrested shortly after the incident and three more men were arrested on Friday evening - all on suspicion of murder.

A sixth person was arrested on Saturday (January 27) for the same offence.

Anyone with information regarding the investigation should contact Hampshire Constabulary on 101 quoting Operation Bracket.
