Farnborough murder investigation: Floral tributes left in memory of 'amazing step dad' who died of multiple stab wounds; Richard Hardy, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene on Friday (January 26).

Floral tributes have been left in memory ofRichard Hardy, who has died of multiple stab woundsinFarnborough.

Emergency services were called to Mayfield Road on Friday afternoon (January 26) but the 25-year-old wassadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Hampshire Constabularyhaslaunched a murder investigationand since the tragedy eight people have been arrested in connection with the incident.

Hand written notes and flowers surround a single tree to mark the memory the "much loved" son and brother.

One note to the "amazing step dad" describes Mr Hardy as "the nicest guy we ever met".

Underneath, another reads: "I can't believe I'm never going to see or hear your voice again."

"My heart is broken into a million pieces," says another.

Mr Hardy's family issued a statement two days after his death.

It states: "Richard was a much loved son and brother who will be massively missed by many. "Our hearts are broken."

Hampshire Constabulary confirmed Mr Hardy's identity and the cause of death was multiple stab wounds on Sunday (January 28).

Two men, aged 31 and 26, were shortly arrested after the incident and three more men were arrested on Friday evening - all on suspicion of murder.

Asixth person was arrestedon Saturday (January 27) on suspicion of the same offence.

On Sunday (January 28) another man, 20, was arrested on suspicion of murder and a woman, 30, was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

All of the suspects remain in police custody.

Officers set up a cordon around Totland Close and the surrounding area but it is expected to be lifted sometime on Sunday evening.

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Nick Heelan, said: "We are continuing to appeal for information in relation to this murder investigation.

"Richard was stabbed to death, in the middle of the day, and I believe there are witnesses who could assist us in understanding the exact circumstances that led up to his death.

"If you have any piece of information, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant, get in contact. If you witnessed this incident and haven't yet spoken to us, pick up the phone."
