FarmingWatch: Turkey mark works.

ACCORDING to the British Turkey Federation (BTF) ``Quality British Turkey'' has become one of the most widely recognised quality symbols in the UK meat industry Launched three years ago, the Quality British Turkey (QBT) mark now comes second only to the British Meat mark in the proportion of consumers who recognise the symbol, at 45pc compared with 71pc, respectively.

The QBT mark is also well ahead of the National Farmers' Union's Red Tractor symbol, which scored only 30pc recognition.

The results come from independent research carried out for the BTF.

The Federation claims that today the majority of multiple retailers support the QBT mark on packaging while an increasing number of them stock 100pc British turkey products.
