Far flung adventures of the Echo on Tour... Friends greet 'The King' with South Wales' finest.

THE King himself has been getting himself all shook up by the South Wales Echo.

The legendary Elvis Presley got a glimpse of the paper when reader Dave Wright, from Beddau, near Pontypridd, stopped off at Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee, while on holiday with friends in the deep south of the USA.

Dave sent us this picture of his group with a model of Elvis as part of our popular Echo on Tour competition. The contest sees readers submit pictures of themselves with the paper taken while on their travels.

As well as managing to dodge Hurricane Fay, Dave and his friends also visited the grave of Martin Luther King in Atlanta, Georgia, during their trip. They stopped off in New Orleans, Alabama and Mississippi before heading to Memphis and Nashville.

Another entry has been submitted by Philip Bear, from Llantrithyd, near Cowbridge, who sent in a picture of his son, David, nine, in Mauritius.

Philip said: "This is only one of three places in the world where you can go down to a depth of three metres in an underwater scooter, just like the ones in the James Bond films.

"We saw loads of fish on the coral reef during our trip and the whole experience was unforgettable."

Gwyn Welsby and his son Daniel, five, from Radyr, Cardiff, got their feet wet when they read the Echo in the Mar Menor saltwater lagoon, in Murcia, Spain.

And Katie Davies, 14, from Llanedeyrn, Cardiff, sent us a picture of herself with family friends Jordan Priday, 15, and siblings Jake, 13, Ieuan, six, and nine-month-old Meghan taken while in on holiday this summer in Tunisia.

Another entry shows Luke, 13, and Laura Burnett, nine, of Grangetown, Cardiff, with the Echo's blue Wem-baa-ley sheep in Paphos, Cyprus.

To enter Echo on Tour, send us pictures of yourself while on holiday with the Echo or with one of the sheep we gave away before the FA Cup final.

When submitting your entry, try to include the full names and ages of people pictured.

Mention where you are and tell us about your trip. Send entries with your name, address and daytime phone number to or by post to Echo on Tour, Katie Norman, Media Wales, Six Park Street, Cardiff, CF10 1XR. The closing date is Monday, September 29.

The Echo cannot return photographs.
