Fantastic food for thought on offer.

A sea of delicious foods is on offer throughout Teesside this week.

Fish'n'chip feasts and paella parties are among the attractions during the Festival of Seafood in Hartlepool and Redcar.

The event, which will run until October 8, coincides with National Seafood Week and is part of the Tees Valley's First for Festivals programme.

Themes include an Oyster Festival at the Ocean restaurant, Staincliffe Hotel, Seaton Carew; a Moules Fest, at Raudin's restaurant, York Hotel, Hartlepool; a Fish'n'Chip feast at the Marine Hotel, Seaton Carew; a Paella Party at Krimos and Porta Fino restaurants at Hartlepool's Historic Quay; and Fish'n'Chips for Lovers at the Red Barns Hotel, Redcar.

Katy O'Malley, manager of Tees Valley Tourism Bureau's First for Festivals campaign, said: "Fresh seafood is part of the appeal of Tees Valley's coastal resorts. This initiative is intended to encourage development of the seafood theme in the area."

Seafood dinner, bed and breakfast packages are available at the Marine, Staincliffe, Red Barns and York hotels.
