Fans glad Wanted came to town.

THE Wanted will showcase their own brand of infectious pop when they play Birmingham's LG Arena next week.

The five-piece burst onto the charts in 2010 with their BRIT nominated debut single All Time Low, which also gave them their first number one.

Now, almost two years on, The Wanted are vying for the crown of Britain's biggest pop band.

Jay McGuiness, Max George, Nathan Sykes, Siva Kaneswaren and Tom Parker have since notched up four anthemic top five singles and two number ones, they have been viewed a staggering 30 million times on YouTube and sold 400,000 copies of their debut album.

And the band is riding high in international charts - their song Glad You Came is currently number one on iTunes Canada and number five in the US.

They kicked off their first UK arena tour earlier this month, showcasing hits from their latest album Battleground, which includes collaborations from producers Wayne Hector, Brian Higgins and Steve Mac, who have previously worked with music luminaries including Britney Spears, JLS and Kylie.

The group has a very enthusiastic Birmingham fanbase - at a signing session at the Fort Shopping Centre last year hundreds of fans queued for hours to see them.

Last year, Siva - who grew up in Ireland with a Sri Lankan father and Irish mother, told the Birmingham Mail: "The Wanted are coming back to Birmingham and if it's anything like the last time we were there it will be mad. We also did a BRMB concert and loved the crowd, they were so much fun."
