Fannie, Freddie, VA clarify post-hurricane policies in AI teleconference; audio available.

In a free April 6 teleconference co-sponsored by the Appraisal Institute, representatives of Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, Department of Veterans Affairs and Dr. Wade Ragas, MAI, SRA, discussed the current state of affairs in the post-hurricane Gulf region, reiterating and clarifying some of the recent policies and offering guidance on how to conduct business in the area.

A recording of the briefing "Appraising Real Estate in Hurricane Katrina Impacted Areas" is now available on the Internet. Interested parties can download the file by visiting entering the username "institute" and password "Appraisal," both of which are case-sensitive. Since the recording is a large file, it may take a few moments for it to start, depending on the connection speed.

The teleconference was attended by over 400 people in 300 sites, according to Appraisal Institute Director of Government Affairs, Bill Garber. For more information, contact Garber at 202-298-5586 or
