Fandango introduced BlackBerry app.
North American online movie ticketing agent Fandango announced on Wednesday the launch of its movie information, showtimes and ticketing app for BlackBerry smartphones.
According to the company, the app enables movie fans to find movies playing nearby by using the device's GPS feature or browse films under the 'Opening This Week', 'Top Box Office' and 'Coming Soon' listings.
The solution also allows users to: add theaters to a 'Favorites' list for faster searching; connect with BlackBerry Maps for driving directions; and purchase tickets for more than 16,000 movie screens.
In addition, users can sign into their Fandango account to purchase tickets with their credit card stored online or securely store and save credit card information directly to their device.
The Fandango app is available for free from Fandango, GetJar and Handango. The application is available for the BlackBerry Tour smartphone, as well as the BlackBerry Bold, BlackBerry Storm, BlackBerry Curve and BlackBerry 8800 series smartphones.
The company also said it is currently hosting an offer for Fandango fans where they can receive a free BlackBerry smartphone.
