Fancy sleeping on the job... and then getting paid pounds 600 a week?

Byline: Christina Savvas

IT'S a dream job for a lazybones - pounds 600 a week to sleep.

Retailer Halfords is looking for a sleeping bag tester in Birmingham to snooze in a variety of products and report back about how good they are.

The job advert says it would 'suit someone interested in sleep and the factors that contribute to a good night's sleep'.

The bike and outdoor chain is looking to fill the role as it gears up for the busy season of music festivals and camping holidays.

The tester will have to sleep under canvas for five days.

Feedback will form the basis of advice given by Redditch-based Halfords staff to consumers looking to buy its products.

The salary is pounds 10 an hour with a minimum of pounds 600 for five-days sleep.

Halfords outdoor leisure expert Oliver Pinders insisted the company were serious about filling the role.

He said: "This is a real job.

This is the age of peer-topeer recommendation and the best person to talk about the merits of a sleeping bag is someone who has spent the night sleeping in it.

"It has to be completed soon so we can pass the results on to our customers ahead of spring and summer when demand is high for our range of camping equipment.

"We want customers to have total confidence when making a purchase. Previous camping experience would be a bonus but we're not ruling out a novice."
