Family party for Emily.
Emily was delighted to be surrounded by her family and friends, including her two children, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren at Caldwell Grange, in Donnithorne Avenue.
And the centenarian, who has lived in Bedworth and Nuneaton all of her life, was delighted to have received the traditional telegram from the Queen.
She said: "It's lovely. But it's all a bit unusual."
Emily grew up in Knightsbridge Avenue, Bedworth, before moving to Lydgate Court in Nuneaton, where she lived for 40 years.
Her family said she would still be living at her own home if not for a recent burglary. She has lived at Caldwell Grange since December last year.
She worked at the Courtaulds plant from the age of 13 until she was married at 25 to husband Tim, who died in 1950.
Her children, Eric and Joan, said: "It's all been a bit overwhelming for her, but she's been great. She's certainly not lost her sense of humour."
