Upon receiving the June 10 issue, I was overjoyed to see how much it pertained to me. I have a 6-year-old sort But alas, I did not find my story within your pages. My partner of almost 20 years left me last year to be with a man. I have had to fight tooth and nail to spend time with my son. Due to archaic laws, I have no legal way to make her let him be with me. This is very painful for me and hard on my son. We chose to bring Markas into this world together. We experienced all that that entails, from planning to conception to pregnancy to delivery. She chose to leave our relationship, and since she is "the real mother," she can do whatever she wants. I'm sure I am not the only GLBT person this has happened to. Why did you fail to bring us into the conversation? We are here, and we have a story to tell too.
